We have a number of superb and protected specimens of trees in our parkland.  To best maintain these our volunteers have recently been undertaking sympathetic management of the surrounding foliage and bushes so that the specimens may be viewed and grow un-restricted once more.  This work has also enabled us to open up historically important views which would otherwise be hidden.

This is just one of the milestone projects currently being undertaken by our volunteers

Fort Amherst is also available for school and educational visits, weddings, private tours, special events and as a film and television location.

We look forward to being of service !

Spur Battery ditches within the un-restored area.  Publicly viewable only on our extended tours.

In January of this year. Major clearance projects commenced.

The projects are being undertaken entirely by Fort Amherst volunteers.

Until the beginning of January this whole area, in the photo to the right, including the walls, was hidden from view by trees, undergrowth and ivy.

One of the many areas you can view on our special extended tours
