Fort Amherst is the perfect location for re-enactment Groups whatever period of history you are interested in. With over 750 metres of defensive underground tunnels, a drill square, open lawned areas for battle re-enactment and space to camp overnight, it can accommodate several units simultaneously if required. Black powder can be supplied on request at an additional cost.

The 79th Cameron Highlanders

The 79th Cameron Highlanders are are a collection of people who are dedicated to re-enacting life as it would have been in the 79th Cameron Highlanders Regiment during the Peninsular wars and up to the battle of Waterloo.  They try to recreate as authentically as possible the everyday life for the soldiers and their families within the regiment, using costume, muskets, drums and food cooked to authentic recipes and day to day routine life in the camp.
