Fort Amherst Spirit Investigation
Are you afraid of the dark…?
Investigations are once a month: 7.00pm to 11.45pm
Experienced guides will help you investigate the paranormal potential at Fort Amherst – with plenty of spooky stories of the unexplained happenings here. Ghost-hunting equipment, such as pendulums and dowsing rods, will be available for your use as you actively hunt and connect with the spirits said to inhabit the Fort’s tunnels and buildings.
Note:
- Strictly over 18s only
- Please bring a torch!
- Not for those with a nervous disposition
- Not for those with a fear of the dark or confined spaces
- Please arrive 20 minutes before the start of your investigation
- Hot drinks served half way through event
- The tunnels are cold. Warm clothing and sensible footwear are strongly advised (no stiletto heels!)

of the Fort.
Tunnels
Some say they can feel a change in atmosphere the
moment they enter the tunnels, others that every
underground nook and cranny has been the scene
of some unexplained event… Many an intriguing
tale has been handed down through generations
of Medway folk… and all are said to be true!
Upper Sections
On leaving the tunnel complex, you will reach the
upper sections of the Fort where you can take in the
stunning views over historical Chatham, Rochester and
Strood. Before you leave, hear further tales of the
region whilst contemplating the countless lives once
lived along the River Medway.

- Not suitable for children under 8yrs old
- Tours run twice a month, with two tours available starting at 8.00pm and 9.00pm
- Please arrive 20 minutes before the start of your tour
- Tour duration: approximately 1 hour
